"Legally in Love" is the story of Mina Perry, an 87-year old spiritual badass. Originally from Harlem, New York, she grew up proud to be black. Despite her confidence, smarts and grit, it wasn't until she was 40 that she came out of the closet. She and her female partner of 30 years could never legally get married, but they built a life and legacy together. Today, she works for LGBT justice through her religious community. Mina opens up about what it was like to come out in mid-life, how she redefined herself after her partner death, and her life today. Oh, and she reads poetry!
